How to Decorate Living Spaces you can be proud of. Part I

How to Decorate Living Spaces

Decorating living spaces for the majority of the population can be very challenging. You can give anyone an empty room and tell them "here you go, decorate it anyway you want". This person will give you the look of, "I just got hit with a ton of bricks!” Unless you are a person that does not care about how your house looks and feels, then personalizing it with your own taste is very important.
Just think about it, after a long day of work and social engagements, you look forward to going home to your favorite living space. To relax, to disengage and since today life is all about technology, maybe lay on your couch and play some soda crush.
Let’s pick a room that you might want to spend your time in. The Living Room. Assume you own the basics of the living room space, couches, a TV and a built-in fireplace.
Adding some of these items that work even in small living places can make a big difference.

White Elegant coffee table
Coffee Tables:  They are very essential in your living room where you can put anything from, TV remotes, magazines, instead of leaving them on your couch. Depending on your taste, you might like contemporary, elegant or modern coffee tables.
smooth rocks table lamp
Lamps: Lighting is very essential as well as a decoration. It can add a dramatic look and grace to your living room. Table lamps as well as floor lamps will be a great pick.
urban trunks and storage
Trunks and Ottomans: You might want to stretch your legs instead of laying all the way on your couch, ottomans are great for that. Trunks and Ottomans can help you keep your living room space neat and organized by being able to stash or store clutter, blankets and such. They can also be great for additional seating in case you have more guests that you can fit on your couch.
zen art work
DYI Wall Décor: Reflect some of your personality on your walls. A naked wall says, “Nothing”. You could mount a personal interest painting, a beautiful mirror (mirrors make rooms look larger) or how about additional lighting with a candle wall sconce.
splendor fireplace
Fireplace Screens: Most of the time fireplaces are the focal point of your living room. To make them even more beautiful and interesting besides the logs inside of it, you can add a timeless and elegant fireplace screen with a theme, the sky is the limit!
galaxy vase
Vases, Figurines, Centerpieces, Picture Frames, Zen Garden: Unless you have really small children and are afraid of them breaking things then a nice centerpiece on your coffee table to add additional touches. Your living room space will look more alive! Additional items would be family pictures, Zen garden kits, table fountains, so many options…
In conclusion, options for decorating living spaces are infinite. We live in a fast pace world where work consumes most of our lives. Enjoy the little moments you get in life and make them more enjoyable by making your home environment a vacation spot inside your home.
Thank you and see you next time with Part II and another room to talk about!
